Kirsty McGeoch (PhD, MEd, LLB, B.Com, Courage & Renewal Facilitator, Grad. Cert. Professional Supervision), has been an educator for over 25 years. Her great passion and research area is digital storytelling, and Kirsty has facilitated projects in the education, social work, community cultural development, social entrepreneurship and disability sectors.
One aspect of her PhD thesis explored the role of personal narrative, reflection and self-awareness in reinvigorating her teaching practice, and drew on the work of Parker. J. Palmer’s, The Courage to Teach: Exploring the inner landscape of a teacher’s life. This, in turn, prompted her to attend her first Courage to Lead® workshop and to then become a facilitator of Palmer's approach to reflective practice. To this work as a Courage & Renewal facilitator, she brings qualities of empathy, deep listening and humour; offering people the safe and welcoming space to tune into their own wisdom for living and leading well.
This thread of reflective practice and well-developed sensitivies in facilitating it is also woven into her more recent work as a Reflective Professional Supervisor, accredited with the Australasian Association of Supervision. In this role, she offers 1:1 and group supervision, both in person and online, to school leaders and academics as well as professionals from a range of fields.
A dedicated lifelong learner, she is currently studying for a Certificate in Bowen Family Systems Theory and is excited to explore these understandings in the supervision, school and organisational leadership space.
